Meet the Governors
Members of the Governing Body are valued volunteers who bring a wide variety of skills, experience and expertise to shape the strategic direction of the school. Governing Bodies are often referred to as the 'critical friend' of the school. They are there to support but also to provide challenge to ensure the best outcome for the school as a whole. Together with the Headteacher, the Governing Body are responsible for forward planning, strategy and school policies.

Who Are Our Governors?
Marie-Clare has a First Class BA (Hons) Marketing Degree and is currently a Senior Marketing Manager working in the European Digital Advertising industry.
As Chair, Marie-Clare oversees and drives the strategic objectives of the Governing Body. She is also the link Governor for Mental Health and Wellbeing, ICT and Parent Communication. Marie-Clare sits on the Finance and Business Management Committee and the Headteacher Performance Management Panel.
Sue spent 33 years as a teacher in Northampton Middle and Secondary schools until her retirement in 2010. Of this, 14 years were in Senior Management, Safeguarding and as a member of school governing bodies.
As a Governor at KVPS, I attend termly Board meetings and also the SQC (Standards, Quality and Curriculum) committee. A highlight is Governor Fortnight when we visit to meet with children and staff to really find out what is going on at the school.
Working with other Governors and senior management to ensure a top quality experience for the Staff and children is a passion of mine and one which I thoroughly enjoy pursuing.
I guess it’s something to do with my 33 years in teaching and management!
Susan is retired, having been a Primary School Bursar in Northampton for 23 years. Susan sits on School Appeals Committees on a voluntary basis and is also a director of Hassett Fencing Ltd.
Helen has a degree in Early Childhood Education and is also a qualified teacher, specialising in Early Years and KS1. Alongside being a registered supply teacher she now spends her time running a photography business.
Richard grew up in Northamptonshire and lives in Kingsthorpe village. He believes passionately in equal educational opportunities for all. He is also a Governor at The Bedford College Group and has been a Governor in schools, colleges and university. Richard taught English and Communication and is the author of four books on Communication. He was a College Principal at Strode College in Somerset and at The Bournemouth and Poole College.
